Library in Świecie

The primary idea for the project was to create a place that could become both: a strong accent in the surroundings and a bonding element for it. The area for the project is a corner plot near the city park. Proposed form was meant to emphasize the conditions of the plot, while respecting the existing context. Simplicity of the formal design should express the clarity of function. On the other hand, the form’s lightness symbolizes possible rearrangements in the interior. Rectangle scheme of the building is split through arcades situated in the important composition points. The function is divided into three zones: library stocks, communication routes and administration.
